Northcote House is the home that I share with my husband, young son, and cavalier, Alfie. It is a very small, 90 square meter, single-story townhouse that was built in 2009. The home itself was rather uninspiring when we purchased it and we have very slowly imbued it with personality through the use of colour and a curated collection of art and objects. With no structural changes being made to the home, the transformation is a testament to the power of interior decoration and the joy that can be found by layering your home with unique and sentimental pieces.

“‘I never thought I’d say this, but our garage is actually now one of my favourite rooms! I’m really proud of the transformation that we have been able to achieve on a relatively small budget. It’s a really beautiful space to work from with its warm and soothing colour palette and an abundance of natural light flooding in..”

“Our bedroom is very small and due to its orientation, it doesn’t receive much natural light, Rather than choosing a colour to brighten the room and attempt to make it feel bigger, I chose to embrace its petite size and lean into the darkness. It has the effect of cocooning you within the space.”
